Wilson's fame travelled into the US in 2014, when she appeared in Showtimes The Affair. She performed the role of Alison Lockhart, a young woman who has a difficult relationship with her past, and is drawn to Noah Solloway. Wilson together with Mauratierney and Joshua Jackson won a Golden Globe as Best Actress for a Television Series-Drama in the year 2015. Wilson spoke to British Vogue during the year 2015 told British Vogue that she loved acting in two distinct viewpoints. Noah believes that Alison is an attractive, confident and reckless self-image. But in real life Alison sees herself as dowdy. Wilson continued: "I do believe America is morally and judging So what goes on in the show seems to be shocking." Wilson quit the show, much to the surprise of fans. However, Wilson was very cryptic regarding further specifics. I had been tempted to leave and she would not allow me to discuss it. Wilson appeared in the horror thriller I Am the Pretty Thing Living in the Home in 2016. She also portrayed the cryptic PT Stella as the Sci-Fi romance How to Talk to Girls in Parties. Adding more of the terror genre to her film credits she is slated to star in the British film version to The Little Stranger a supernatural thriller which is based on the novel written by Sarah Waters. Wilson will also produce the film.
